The Curtin Saints are an American football (Gridiron) club based at Curtin University in Bentley, Perth Western Australia. We are part of Gridiron West league in Western Australia which is a national member of Gridiron Australia. The club has a proud tradition and is always open for new players and supporters to become involved.

Flag Football West Round Four set to kick off 20th May after the Mothers day bye round last week. The 4th round is set to take place this Sunday 20tht May after last weeks bye round. Will the team leader topple and who will win int he 3rd vs 4th place matchup. 2nd place Win forever with face up against the Little Pony (broncos) team and Red legs will battle Lightning Slow.Round 4 will be held at Barblett Oval, 1pm on Sunday May 20th.

Gridiron West Premier Flag Football League Round Three. Round three of the GW Premier Flag Football League was completed on Sunday May 6th with the Saints beating the Jets in a  high scoring shoot out 62 to 46, the Broncos defeated the Vipers 34 to 27 in a close game with a much improved Vipers team and the Wolveriens decimated the Blitz 74 to 20. Round four is Sunday 20th May at Barblett oval, Curtin Uni 3:30pm. Saints vs Vipers, Wolverines vs Jets and Blitz vs Broncos. Flag Football West Round Three Results. The third week saw a reshuffle at the top of the ladder. Red legs and Win Forever undefeated 3-0. Six regular games to go and the finals should see a few more teams competeing for a spot in the finals round. See the reports page for results and the ladder. Sunday 13th is a bye for mothers day.

Flag Finals Family Fun Day being planed for July 1st. A family fun day is being planned so save the date. Fun and activities for the whole family along with the finals for the Gridrion West Premier Flag Competition. Our plan is for face painting, a bouncy castle, a petting zoo, a bake sale and a sausage sizzle on the day. Check the social page for more information and check back closer the the date. Remember to save the date for some family fun!  

Gridiron West Premier Flag Football League Round Two. Round two of the GW Premier Flag Football League was completed on Sunday with the six teams evenly split; Jets, Wolves and Saints with two wins, the Broncos, Blitz and Vipers still looking for their first win. Jets decimated the Blitz 46 to 6 and the Wolves similarly mauled the Vipers 58 to 6. The Saints vs Broncos match was closer with a 50 to 34 scoreline favouring the Saints. Round three is Sunday 6th May at Barblett oval, Curtin Uni 3:30pm. See the Ladder page for league standings. Flag Football West Round Two Results. The second week saw some movement in the ladder as teams picked up a win and others dropped a game. It is early days yet but with only eight weeks in the regular season every game result will count towards a finals spot. See the reports page for results and the ladder. There is room for more players to get involved with several teams looking to fill the last few rosters spots. Gridiron West Premier Flag Football League underway. The first season of the official Gridiron West Premier Flag Football competition got off to a great start with six of the GW teams being represented. Round one had the Saints, Wolves and Jets chalk up a win. The Blitz, Vipers and Broncos will be hungry for a win comming into round two on Sunday 29th April at Barblett oval, Curtin Uni. Premier flag games start at 3:30pm. See the Ladder page for results. Gridiron West teams not fielding flag teams are the Steelers and the Fire but this in no way suggests a decline in these clubs commitment to the sport of gridiron. A player registration fee of $30 is due for players not already Gridiron West registered to cover insurance. Premier Flag Football League to Begin 22nd April 2012. The creation of the Premier Flag Football League has been unaminously approved by the Gridrion West Board. The offical Gridiron West state flag league will commence 22nd April 2012. Saints players wanting to represent the club are asked to contact the coach and put their names forward to try out for a spot. All Gridrion West teams have been invited to field a team and there may be room for a second team if some clubs are unable to be represented. The winner of the competition will be crowned the Gridiron West Premier Flag Football Champion. Flag Football West "The League" 2012 has begun. The first pre season week went well with 8 teams represented and numerous free agents turning up to play and see what flag football is all about.  Just shy of 50 people attended the first day and some impressive skills were on display. There is room for more players if you want to get involved with most team having some room on their rosters. Week 2 (Registration) will be held on Sunday April 15th at 1pm to 4pm. Player registration fee is due $30 and please organised team colours and submit your team registration forms to coach@curtinsaints.com if you have not already. Ultimate Football games Monday nights 18:30 - 20:30, 2012 Curtin Uni, Edinburgh Oval.
2012 introduces a new form of football fitness and fun with Ultimate Football (non contact, described as fast paced where everyone can throw and catch and intercept, possesion changes quickly and everyone is always on the run unless they have the ball, its a lot like netball with endzones) games start Monday March 26th 6:30pm till 8:30pm, Edinburgh oval. Format is open teams, pick on the night. Ultimate Football is open to ages 14+, men and women welcome. Fun and Fitness are the aim of the game. Flag Football League starts Sunday April 1, Rego and Seeding games.
Flag preseason games start Sunday April 1st, 1pm to 4pm. Curtin University. The 2012 Flag Tournament season round one begins April 22nd and concludes July 1st with the finals and championship round. Flag preseason teams are running as 'pick on the day' for those not in a team and we will then organise the formal teams from there. The flag competition is open to ages 14+, men and women welcome. Curtin Saints appoint David Oliveri as the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
David is veteran player with state level experience and a great team leader. He is appointed to the coaching role to improve the teams fitness and strength for the upcomming 2012/2013 season. Head Coach Craig Wilson speaks very highly of David and his plans to improve the team -"Along with Crossfit and HITT we look forward to some inovative training methods during the essentail prep for a big season ahead"


Curtin Saints 2012 AGM was held Saturday 10th March - The 2012/21013 board has been   elected and appointed. Congratualations to the following people -
The annual general meeting was met with a good turn out and the board appointed. Strategy was analysed and discussed along with reports from the board. The 2012/2013 season is looking to be better than the last one in all aspects of the club. See the contacts page for an updated list of the board.

"Congratulations on a great season Saints. Senior progression has been from 4-10 in 2010/2011 to 8-6 in the 2011/2012 season. A great turn around to have a winning record and finishing just out of the playoffs. With the overall 5th Ranked Defense and 2nd Ranked Offense the team has made some milestone improvements. Thanks to all your efforts the future of Seniors, Juniors and the Club is looking great. Be proud to be a Saint!"


2012 Saints close out the season with a win over the Steelers 32 - 14  The Saints defeated the Steelers 32 - 14.  The Saints Offence and Defence both played well with the arial assault being unleashed for over 300 yards and 4 Touchdowns combined with a solid run game between the hashes proving too much for the leagues best defence. The Saints defence stepped up to force turnovers and keep pressure on the opposition from the start of the game. The win was a great way to cap off the season. With the wolves defeat by the blitz the Saints finish 5th on the ladder and are out of the play offs. With Flag football during the off season and a solid preseason planned will see the team fiercely contending for a playoff spot during the 2012/2013 season. March on Saints!

2012 Saints win over the wolverines in a close game 20 - 18  The Saints won 20 -18 over the Wolves in a very close game. This was a great game from a quality opposition team. The Saints Offence and Defence played well to hold the Wolves to 3 scores with one comming from a fumble. Our chance at the finals rests on the Wolves beating the 4th placed Blitz. One games left in the regualr season that is a  must win vs 2nd place Steelers, with the best Defence in the league. Game kickoff is at 4.30pm Saturday 21th January 2012.

 
2012 Saints lose in a close fight with the champs 8 to 14 - The Saints lost 8 -14 to the Vipers in saturday's game. This was a hard fought game which showed some room for improvement especially on offence, some players in new positions stepped upon to contribute while several key players played on both O and D. Defence did a great job and Offence was unable to dominate on the ground or in the air. Two games left in the regualr season become must wins to reach the finals. Next week Saints vs Wolverines 2.00pm Saturday 14th January 2012.

2012 Saints march onwards in the new year! - This Saturday's game is another crack at the league champions. The game will affect our run at a finals place this year and a win will help take the team to the next level. Be there to support the team! Go Saints! 2011 Saints Christmas BBQ and Flag - Sunday 18th December - A great day was had by all.
It was good to see the Junior and Senior team allong with wives, girlfriends and family there for the day. Merry Christmas to all the team, supporters, their families and coaches.

2011 Saints demolish the Fire 72 to 0 - The Saints senior team ran over the Fire 72 to 0. The game was one sided from the start. The Fire to their credit turn up to play week after week with low numbers. Be great see them improve and accept assistance from the league. The Saints played aggressive football, complimented solid Defence and fast hitting special teams. Overall the Saints were too good on the day for the Fire. 2011 Saints beat the Blitz 40 to 30 - The Saints senior team won over the Blitz 40 to 30. The game was a great showing in all three spheres of Offence, Defence and Special teams. 2011 Junior Saints play finals in first year of forming - Junior Saints lost in a semi fianl to the league leading Wolverines juniors 56 - 14. A great season to make the finals the first year. 2011 Saints lose to Broncos 28 to 12 - The Saints senior team lost to the Broncos 28 to 12. The game was fiercely fought out with a kick return for a touchdown, an intercept for a score and a TD on 4th and long deciding the game in the Broncos favour. 2011 Saints lose to Jets 8 to 34 - The Saints senior team lost to the Jets 8 to 34. The game was played well by the Jets and was a dismal effort by the Saints team. 2011 Saints win a close game 20 -16 over Steelers - The Saints senior team defeated the Steelers 20 to 16. The game was played fast and scrappy. Both offence and defence had some good plays and Special teams did well except for one kick return. 2011 Saints win over Wolverines - 54 -14 - The Saints senior team defeated the Wolverines 54 to 14. The game was played well by both offence and defence. Special teams also did well to keep O and D in good field position thoughout the game. Next up Saints vs Steelers 5pm Saturday 19th November.

2011 Back and Gold Scrimmage (Offense vs Defence) - The Curtin Saints would like to invite all players, as well as players friends, partners and girlfriends, down to Edinburgh Oval, Curtin University @ 1.00pm  Sunday, the 25th of September, to see the "Black vs. Gold" Scrimmage and join in our social Club Open Day. 2011 Pre Season Training Underway - Training for the 2011/2012 Senior contact season is underway, follow the registration day training is on Mondays and Wednesday 6:30pm to 9:00pm. During pre season Sunday 9:30am to 1pm Training sessions will also be run. See the Training page for more details.

New Offensive Co-Ordinator - Coach Parke met some of the team at the Defensive Clinic held on Sunday 2nd. The offence trained with Coach Parke Tuseday night and we can already see positive results from Coach Parkes time with the players. Welcome aboard Coach Parke!

UPDATE - US Div II Coach Tim Tobin visit a roaring success! Thank you to all the people who attended the Dinner, Traning Clinics and to the players who supported this great chance to meet and learn from an awesome Coach. Coach Tobin is simply an outstanding coach and individual. We are truely thankful for his time and patience in helping to teach the league and our players fundamentals of the game. We appreciate him traveling half way around the world to share his passion for the sport. We defiantely are all the better for the experience.
